Information we handle
When you open the extension on a Slack channel and start an export, it reads the selected channel's available rendered messages and thread replies, sender names, timestamps, channel title and URL, links, reactions, reply counts and file information. If you choose Include attachments, it also downloads supported files from Slack. Messages and files may contain personal, financial, health, location or other sensitive information supplied by channel participants. The extension does not classify or remove that content.
Why we use it
These data are used to build the transcript, preserve thread relationships, check capture limitations and produce your requested local download. The extension does not collect general browsing history, track your activity for analytics, access device location, or extract authentication tokens, passwords or cookies. It reads the current channel URL for the export and uses your browser's timezone to format dates.
Processing and retention
Transcript processing and archive assembly take place in your browser. Captures and pending export data are held in memory; closing the panel only hides it. Reloading or closing the Slack tab discards its in-memory capture. There is no extension database, cloud sync, analytics service or exporter backend.
Network requests and sharing
Optional attachment downloads use HTTPS requests to files.slack.com with browser-managed session credentials. Slack receives these requests under its own policies. Scrolling and opening threads interact with Slack and can mark messages read. The exporter does not upload transcripts or files to aipieksel or another exporter service, sell data, use data for advertising, use it for creditworthiness/lending decisions, or use it for purposes unrelated to the export workflow.
Downloads and security
Downloaded Markdown and ZIP files persist until you delete them. They are ordinary, unencrypted files; operating-system protection, backups, cloud-synced download folders and any sharing you initiate are outside this extension's control. Protect exports according to their contents. The extension does not restore the previous channel scroll/thread position.
Permissions and your choices
The activeTab permission applies after the toolbar click; scripting injects the local collector and panel; downloads saves the requested file and checks its completion. Optional files.slack.com access is requested when you choose attachments. You can export without attachments, stop a capture (which retains and may download a partial result), reload the tab to discard memory, delete downloaded files, revoke optional site access in extension settings, or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling does not delete previously downloaded exports.
Scope and policy changes
The extension handles only information available to your Slack session and cannot recover deleted or inaccessible history. Slack and Salesforce are independent third parties; this extension is not affiliated with them. Future changes to this policy will be reflected in its effective date and should describe any changed handling before a corresponding release.
